It is almost May and hopefully the rains will stop and the garden area will dry out enough so we can get out and start working. Volunteers are needed to help with planting, pruning, pulling ivy, and general upkeep.
We will keep the same schedule as last year... Wednesdays and Saturdays, 10 am to ? If you find you have extra plants in your garden that you are removing, perhaps we can use tham to replace some of our losses.
Hoping for interested folks to come starting May 4.
Thank you!

On Saturday, February 5th, the world premiere of Lisa Pierce's new film "New Life at Sturgeon's Mill" was shown to a standing room only crowd of historians, steam aficionados and supporters of the Sturgeon's Mill Restoration Project. The video, two years in the making, traces the history of the Mill's 99 years of existence from 1912 to 2011.
Many "Friends of Sturgeon's Mill" were there to show their support of the project. One of our Friends and his wife have offered a $5,000 "challenge grant" which expires on March 15, 2011. Any donation made to the Sturgeon's Mill Restoration Project before this date will be matched dollar for dollar up to the $5,000 limit.
Many of you have supported our working museum in the past with your donations. If you were planning to donate this year now would be an excellent time to send in your donation, or you can make a PayPal donation (PayPal account not required) at the bottom of our home page or on our Friends of Sturgeons Mill page .
Please help us in our goals to complete our visitor information center, repair and rehabilitate old and broken equipment and pay off the mortgage on the purchase of Wade Sturgeon's historic "Woodland Gardens."
Thank you for your financial support to help the "Dream Live On" at our Historic Working Museum.

A hearty thank you to all who visited the Mill during one of our steam-ups this past year!! We, the members of the "crew", look forward to these “productive” weekends when we see you, who enjoy steam-powered machinery in operation, come and enjoy the fruits of our labor of the year. We each have our reasons for enjoying this Restoration Project and they all come together when we get together on these great weekends.
The only thing we ask of you is to support this Restoration Project when and however you can and to pass on to your friends the information about this Mill and your enjoyment in observing its operation.
